After Blog Tour: Character Interview with Conrad and Ivan

Are you ready for a fun interview with two awesome characters?

I hope so! Recently I have been reading Savannah Jezowski’s new release, After, and it has been such a fascinating read. Getting to know Eli and Conrad has been something else and getting to interview them both even more so!

Check out my fun conversation with them. 🙂

About the Book

“Some people might say that there are worse fates than death. In some worlds, perhaps that may well be the case. But in mine, it would be a lie. There is no greater horror than that which comes after death.”

On the streets of an ancient city, with creepers wandering at will and a mysterious assassin leaving corpses all over Pandorum, a young Spook with a dark secret will do anything to keep his brothers safe, even from forces that threaten to tear them apart from within. While others are searching for impossible cures from outlawed Spinners, Conrad Ellis III does not believe in fairy tales and miracles. But when he discovers a strange girl with shrouded ties to the Assassin, Eli is forced to leave the streets he loves and travel into the very heart of Pandorum in order to save a member of his family. With his health failing and the danger escalating, there is no escaping the inevitable truth. Today, he may hunt creepers.

Tomorrow, he just might be one.

Let’s Chat!

– I am super pumped to be chatting with both of you! I so love you both being here and totally appreciate you taking the time out of your busy schedules to come and chat with me.

Since I have been eagerly anticipating our conversation, I thought it be fun to ask questions about what you think the other would have or say. Sort of a fun way for us all to get to know each other better. Okay, well maybe ME get to know you both better.

For my first question: What are three items you think is in the other’s fridge?

Conrad: What is a fridge?

Ivan: That’s where people keep their food in other worlds.

Conrad: Well, how was I supposed to know that? We don’t have “fridges” in the Neverway.

Ivan: You’re getting off topic. Think of it as a pantry. She wants to know what you think is in mine.

Conrad: I already know what’s in our pantry. There’s potatoes, rice, beans…

Ivan: (sighs dramatically) I apologize for my stepbrother’s lack of imagination. I think if Conrad had his own pantry it would be filled with biscuits and sausage. And coffee.

Conrad: I like all those things, yes. Why is this important?

Ivan: I give up. Can we try another question?

– Haha! Sorry about the confusion, Conrad! Ivan, what do you consider the other’s must have accessory or article of clothing?

Ivan: Oh, this one is easy. Conrad has about as much fashion sense as a turnip. He wears the same thing every day. Boots, pants, suspenders…

Conrad: (indignantly) I wear a shirt, as well.

Ivan: Yes, yes, and we all appreciate that. Now it’s your turn.

Conrad: I don’t know. This is rather silly. I suppose your jacket with all the straps and buckles, and the bowler. Oh, and that stupid dragon belt buckle that cost a frightful amount of money. And serves no practical use. At all.

Ivan: It keeps my trousers on. Would you rather let them fall off?

Conrad: I most certainly would not!

Ivan: There you have it. Next question, please?

– I would love to see your dragon belt buckle sometime, Ivan! It sounds so awesome! Conrad, what kind of music do you think the other listens too?

Conrad: (grumpily) Something loud and annoying.

Ivan: Seriously? You have no idea what I like, do you?

Conrad: We don’t listen to music much.

Ivan: She didn’t ask that. She wanted to know what you THINK I listen to.

Conrad: Something loud and annoying.

Ivan: (Sighs) Fine. I think Conrad listens to a death march. That’s about all the creativity he’s got in him.

Conrad: I’m a spook, not a creeper-loving street performer. Are we almost done yet?

Ivan: dum dum dum dum DUM…

– Oh my goodness! You guys are hilarious together! (Coughs) I mean, well, I’m super curious about this last question. What kind of unique weapon would the other have crafted to fight creepers?

Ivan: Ooh, I like this one! Conrad likes his nightstick. And since, as we’ve already established, he’s got the creative juices of a barren desert…that’s all he’d ever be able to come up with. Although, if he had the technology, he could turn his nose into a powerful weapon. He can already smell creepers a mile away.

Conrad: A nose isn’t a weapon. It’s a tool.

Ivan: (blink blink)

Conrad: Fine. I think Ivan would use his thick head as a weapon.

Ivan: Now you’re just being mean.

Conrad: You started it. You always start it.

Ivan: That isn’t true! If you weren’t so cranky, and stubborn, and bossy all the time I would have no problems with you. At all.

Conrad: And if you weren’t so reckless, and annoying, and disrespectful then I would have no problems with you.

Ivan: I think we need to cut this interview short. Conrad’s getting his knickers in a twist.

Conrad: I am not. Ivan’s deliberately making this difficult. I don’t like talking about myself much is all. And these questions are most unusual.

Ivan: That was the whole point. It was supposed to be fun.

Conrad: Fine. We’ve had fun. Can I go back to work now? There’s a creeper wandering around on Barker Street that I really should take care of…

– Haha! So sorry about the unusual questions, guys, but I do hope you had fun! Also, be sure to get that creeper! 😉

This interview was such a blast. Thank you so much having us all over…and I apologize, as well, for Conrad’s grumpiness. He’s a bit awkward around people, is all…
