Five Reasons Why I Need Mollie Reeder’s The Electrical Menagerie Right Now

Alright, friends, let’s be honest.

It’s Monday.

It can sometimes be a rough morning and getting back into the groove of things is hard (especially if you’re like us and recovering from a week out of school).

So, let’s perk up this Monday with a super fun giveaway!

My friend Mollie E. Reeder (who is totally super cool as an FYI) is going to be releasing her first novel this summer and graciously offered to give away FIVE e-copies of her upcoming release, The Electrical Menagerie. However, I wanted to spice up things a little bit more with a fun surprise of my own. Hehe!

In case you’re not sure what her novel is about, don’t worry! I got your back with these five reasons why I can’t wait to read this incredibly, epic sounding story and what it’s about (near the end of the end of this post).

Oh, and how you can get a free book too. (Yep, totally perking up this Monday morning because free books are awesome. *winks*)

Let’s jump right in!

Five Reasons Why I Need Mollie Reeder's The Electrical Menagerie Right Now

1. Everything!!!

I know, I know, I know! This isn’t technically a legit answer, but have you read the synopsis yet? (If you haven’t yet, I’m slowly making my way there to share it.) It sounds incredible! Granted, I just said that in the paragraph above, but wait until you hear all the super interesting things about this book and series. I mean, how could I not want this book ASAP with all the stuff she mentions like…

2. Aone-of-a-kind robotic roadshow”

Yes, I totally just said that. A robotic roadshow. Say what?! So not only does it seem we are going to be dealing with some fun circus-like stuff (I’m not a betting woman, but I bet she’s added a twist), but we get to see some robots perform! Super cool! Those robots are probably far from the “ordinary” robot I’ve seen on TV too.

3. Floating islands

*Squeals* Ahhh! So, we have magicians (and don’t forget the robots!) performing on these I bet beautiful lands. (Okay, maybe some are not super awesome because bad things might happen there, but still.) Yeah, just the idea of this totally intrigues me.

4. “For fans of steampunk, science fiction, and fairy tales”

As I’ve heard some readers say (that I have to echo), “Shut up and take my money!” LOL! What an epic mashup! I mean there is going to be so many fun aspects to this story that I can’t even begin to imagine how Mollie is going to roll everything out to us readers. Plus, if you want a little “taste” of that world, here’s two different aesthetics she made. (Click here for photo credits.)

5. The cover

Yep, totally judging here and I. Want. This. Cover. It’s so gorgeous and think the designer did an amazing job of mashing all of the three genres above on one cover. I know I certainly don’t want to miss out on reading this! Wondering what the cover looks like? Take a look below and read all about it!

About the Book

The Electrical Menagerie, one-of-a-kind robotic roadshow, is bankrupt.

Illusionist and engineer Sylvester Carthage has the eccentric imagination the Menagerie needs to succeed creatively — but none of the people skills. Fast-talking foreigner Arbrook Huxley, young and newly estranged from a lavish upbringing, has all the savvy the Menagerie needs to succeed commercially — but none of the scruples.

In a stardust-and-spark-powered empire of floating islands and flying trains, a shot at stardom means weathering society etiquette, double-dealing journalists, and collaborative conflict. To save their show, these mismatched producers must risk everything in a royal talent competition, vying for the once-in-a-lifetime chance to perform for the Future Celestial Queen.

But with suspicion that real conspiracy may lurk beneath contest controversy, there’s more at stake than just the future of the company. Behind the glittery haze of flashpaper and mirrors, every competitor has something to hide — and it’s the secrets Carthage and Huxley keep from each other that may cost them more than their company.

The Electrical Menagerie is the first novel set in The Celestial Isles universe. Visit the official website of the Celestial Isles at

Arbrook Huxley & the Star-Crossed Lovers is a free tie-in novelette which can be enjoyed before or after reading The Electrical Menagerie. It can be claimed at

(And in case if I haven’t been convincing enough and you don’t want your free novelette, on Twitter Mollie tweeted that this story has “show business, unrequited love, disapproving aunts, and a VERY unfortunate mix-up with a magician’s hat.” Remember all this awesomeness is free!)
