#onelinewednesday: Rothana

A powerfully told story I recently read was Rothana by Sarah Delena White. It delivered in every way, even if times I wanted to ask the author why these precious characters have to go what they are going through. Haha!

I soaked up reading this book as quick as I could because I was SO invested in these characters lives. They bring so many feels and it was hard seeing them make mistakes, but how exciting it was to see when they realized truths about themselves that are freeing! Goodness, the things they learned by the end hit me just as powerfully as them. It encouraged me on a level I was unprepared for.

As I traveled with Sylvie and saw her hardships, there were times I felt low about struggles in my own life. I didn’t realize how much I needed and wanted her to overcome until she did. And not just her, but all of these characters. They went through so much and pulled me through the trenches right alongside them. Yet hope flourished in the darkest of nights, even if it felt like a tiny speck in some situations. Hope is truly never extinguished.

Thankfully our lives can reflect hope in multiple situations as Sylvie shares, but we first have to change our mindset about others and the world around us. It won’t happen overnight, but making the conscious choice to think differently will have an impact.

Sometimes greater then we can imagine.
