Resilience Blog Tour: The Angels and Demons of TRWC

One of my favorite series is having another release! Woot woot!

Wait, I mean, I’m hosting one of my favorite author’s today in celebration of her book releasing later this week! 😀

Not sure if that’s the best way to start off a blog post or not, but I am beyond thrilled to be kicking off the blog tour of Amy Brock McNew’s upcoming release, Resilience. I eagerly look forward to giving you an inside scoop of the angels and demons in her book (yeah, they are completely beasty), but also how you can party with her later this week.

Take a look at the book below and dive into this exciting paranormal/urban fantasy world with me!

About the Book

The fiercest warriors emerge from the most brutal storms.

Liz and Ryland Vaughn have fought hard to survive every threat that’s risen against them. But nothing they’ve faced compares to the battle to come.

As they settle in to married life, all seems perfect and quiet. Too quiet. Being a warrior doesn’t allow for peace.

Then one vicious moment throws their world into upheaval and rips their hearts to shreds.

Wanting to get away from it all, they accept a mission to New Orleans to assist fellow warriors. Ryland hopes the time away will repair the rift between them, but the chasm only widens as they face an enemy so subtly horrific, they don’t even know they’re falling.

As they descend into darkness, Liz’s past once again rears its ugly head.

This time, it takes Ryland along for the ride.

Can Liz and Ryland undo the damage to their marriage and hang on to their faith while completing their mission? Or will they fall to temptation and lose everything they’ve fought so hard for?

Let’s Chat!

Hey y’all! First I want to thank Laura for having me this week.

It’s a big week, what with Resilience releasing Thursday and all. Haven’t heard about that? Well, then you’re in the right spot for the scoop!

Resilience is book 3 of the Reluctant Warrior Chronicles, my urban fantasy series that follows the lives, loves, and battles of a rag tag group of human warriors, their angelic guardians, and the demons they fight.

Usually, I talk about the human characters. But today, I’d like to do something different.

I want to talk about the angels and demons of TRWC. Ready? Hang on to your seats! Here we go!

Let’s start with the angels. Their personalities are as varied as the humans they protect and guide.

Arie Chayal: He is a commander in Heaven’s army, and the guardian of my main female character, Liz Brantley. Arie, as she affectionately calls him, is usually all business, running the group of angels and humans with efficiency. But he does have a softer side. Especially for Liz. The angels love their chargers like children, and since Liz’s father passed, he’s been the only father figure she has. He also has a quirky sense of humor, which he’s learning from Liz. Though, his jokes sometimes fall a little flat.

Chammu’el: This angel is the stoic one of the bunch. He’s Ryland Vaughn’s guardian, and the pair suit well. As do all the guardian/charge pairings. Chammu’el rarely cracks a smile, but when he does, it’s a beautiful sight. He is the ultimate warrior, soldier to the core. He doesn’t know anything else. He doesn’t really understand humans, and has no interest in learning about human life outside of what he needs to know to do his job and protect and guide his charge. In Resilience, we get to see a softer side to Chammu’el, even if only for a moment.

Hadriel: She is the golden guardian of Ilona Romenenko, the wounded Czech warrior. Hadriel is the consummate warrior, as is her charge. The mission is their life, and most days, they are in sync. Hadriel is more than a guardian for the orphaned Ilona, she is her mother, protector, and confidant. Hadriel takes the special care with her charge that Ilona requires due to her ugly, painful past. Hadriel has a grace, dignity, and peace about her that is unmatched.

Sidriel: Ah, Sidriel. This angel is the jokester of the bunch. He’s guardian to Ryland’s little brother Nate, and has been to Hell and back with him. The darkness in Nate is countered by the light and levity in Sidriel. This angel is enamored with all things human, constantly trying different foods, phrases, and jokes, and joining in on activities with his charge and the rest of the humans. He provide much needed humor in an overall dark story. He might just be my favorite.

For the demons, we have 3 in this book. Tiriana, Davan, and of course, Lucifer.

Tiriana: Oh, Tiriana. Or “Ria”, as Davan calls her, much to her dislike. She’s Lucifer’s second in command, and a specialist in the art of torture. But being second doesn’t work for this ambitious spitfire. (LOL) She has her own plans to take over the throne from Lucifer. She has a love/hate relationship with him. She longs for her former life in the angelic army, but has no qualms about embracing the evil within and pushing the limits. Davan is a dalliance, merely there until she tires of him and he’s no longer needed for her plans.

Davan: This upper level demon seems to have no idea he’s merely a pawn in the game between Lucifer and Tiriana. Or does he? He has affection for Tiriana (yes, demons are capable of that), but he’s aware enough to keep an eye on her. He’s not the ignorant patsy everyone seems to take him for. He has his own plans and has no problem pitting the two playing him against each other.

Lucifer: Known in the story as Dominic Beaufort, Lucifer finally makes his appearance in TRWC. What an appearance it is! I don’t think I have to describe his character for you. You can imagine the havoc he wrecks. He sets his sights on Liz and Ryland, pulling them into a dark web like a spider with a fly. They never see it coming. They are ripe for his favorite kind of game, and sees it as a special joy to attempt to turn two of Heaven’s most powerful human warriors to his side, and against each other. He gets a sadistic thrill out of it. And out of throwing a wrench into Tiriana’s plans. Oh, he knows. After all, he is the king of Hell. TRWC will never be the same.

I hope you’ve enjoyed getting to know a little more about some of the supernatural creatures in TRWC. And I hope you preorder Resilience!

Thanks again for having me!
