Spring Cleaning Writer Tag Challenge

I WAS TAGGED IN MY FIRST WRITER TAG!!!!

*ahem*

Excuse me, I mean I was tagged by H.L. Burke and J.M. Hackman in my first writer tag, hosted by the amazing Deborah O’Carroll. (Seriously, check out her website and read the snippets from her story. It sounds epic!)

Ready to jump right in? Let’s do this thing!

1. Dust-bunnies and Plot-bunnies: Reorganize Your Writing Goals (Or Make New Ones)

Hmmm. Tough question as I just made a new writing goal with this entire WIP. I was strongly encouraged to have fun while writing and that has been my biggest goal currently. My second writing goal has been to work on my WIP every day, whether it’s brainstorming, finding visuals, or writing.

2. Which Stage Are You At? Expound!

a. Remodeling layouts (planning the story)
b. Painting the walls in colorful hues (writing)
c. Polishing the windows and scrubbing the floors and putting flowers in vases (editing)
d. Blueprints (not to the cleaning or remodeling yet… just drawing up plans for the very beginning inklings of a story)
e. Some combination of those things (cleaning out a closet)

I think I’m making blueprints with a little bit of remodeling layouts and painting the walls in colorful hues. This is a really really new WIP (like maybe two-weeks old) and don’t really know where the story is fully going. I know bits and pieces, but goodness, I still don’t even really know my MC that well! (Though I do know my antagonist a little too well if you ask me. LOL!)

So far I’ve written the first chapter and started writing the second chapter (I love where it’s going).

3. Treasure From the Back of the Closet (Share one to three snippets you love!)

(This is my first rough draft so bear with me. *smiles*)

Time stood still.

The creature in front of me glowered down at me. “Is it true that you are the chosen one?” Her breathe seemed to come out like cold air.

I stared up at her, her crown slightly crooked. What is this thing? Is it dead?

“We have searched long and hard for you if so. If you are not, then my brothers and sisters shall enjoy torturing you forever passing through our field.”

“Kana!”

I was afraid to look behind me, my mouth closed as if it was frozen shut. This seemed to agitate the creature further.

“Do you not know who I am? Do you not know that you must speak when I ask for a reply?”

3.5. Bonus: Do Some Actual Spring Cleaning of Your Writer Self! (And share a picture!)

Just last weekend I did some spring cleaning of my desk area. Here it is (and it’s still fairly clean)! Sorry, no spring cleaning for the writer self today. LOL!

Thanks so much for tagging me H.L. Burke and J.M. Hackman! This was a lot of fun and was so excited to participate!

To keep the fun going, I tag Bethany A. Jennings, Desiree Williams, and Jannette Fuller. 🙂 Also, if you would like to participate, consider yourself tagged. 😉

Rules

1. Link back to the person who tagged you

2. Share the picture

3. Answer the questions (naturally…) or even pick and choose which ones you answer

3.5. Tag 3 other writers and inform them that you tagged them (via comment/message/email or hey, even carrier-pigeon or smoke signal; I’m not picky)

Yay, you did the tag! I love seeing this one go around. ^_^ (And aww, thanks for the shout-out, sweet friend!) I loved getting a look at how your writing is going. Writing for fun is DEFINITELY important and I’ve been trying to focus on that part more — it’s a blast! 🙂 Your snippet is intriguing … ooh, shivers! And I love seeing people’s writing spaces! I spy Exordia and Sentinel!! 😀 Thanks for sharing! 🙂

I did, and I LOVE it!! Thank you for starting it, Deborah! So much fun and loved seeing friends share where they are. 🙂 Yes, I totally can’t wait to read both of those stories, especially after reading your review of Sage the other day!
