WOO HOO! I have been SO eagerly looking forward to today as…
I am revealing the title of my upcoming book and launching the cover reveal sign-up form!!! *squeals*
If you like to hear all the things, check out this vlog below OR if you rather read all the things, scroll down. 😉
Hey guys! Laura A. Grace here and bringing you another blog post!
Today is different.
You guys, are you ready?
Are you prepared for this?
I am revealing the title of my upcoming debut.
To be writing this blog post is very very surreal. If you’ve been following me on social media this week, I’ve been dropping all these fangirl things and book related things all in preparation for today’s post.
So, I’ll jump right in!
Cool fun fact!
I was actually already on Goodreads and I had no idea until I went to make my author Goodreads page.
Sort of cool, sort of like “Oh my goodness I’m really on Goodreads!”.
Yeah, let’s jump right into this thing!
You’re probably really wanting to hear the name of the book first before I go into sort of what the book is about so I guess I can enlighten you or entertain you today. 😉 (And it’s really hard because I’m actually going to show you the title page of my author proof that came in the mail which means I have the cover right here, but I can’t show you!)
I really really want you to, however, I will show you the title page so you’ll be able to see the font that I’m using.
Okay, right here we go!
There it is! Dear Author: Letters from a Bookish Fangirl.
It’s so pretty!
It will be published under my imprint Unicorn Quester Books, LLC.
I’m excited this book Dear Author: Letters from a Bookish Fangirl is fifteen letters from me to authors. It also has illustrations and they are so adorable, they are so cute, they are so much fun!
Anybody who has seen them has really really loved them so huge shout out to Hannah S.J. Williams who was my illustrator for my illustrations.
Like I mentioned, Dear Author is letters to authors and it’s basically like a whole bunch of love letters from me to indie authors specifically.
When I was doing research on categories of what category my book should be in on Amazon, I found there are tons and tons and tons of book that are geared towards authors and writers of how to write better, how to write in general, how to self edit, how to promote your book, how to do the best wordbuilding possible.
There are so many tools and they are amazing, fantastic tools! However have you ever had one of those days where you’re just like you’re doing the best that you can? I mean the very best?
You’re giving over a hundred percent to do the best that you can and then feel and/or then be told that for whatever reason, it’s not good enough. That you could be doing more. That you could be putting 200% in rather than just a hundred and five percent.
Somedays, on those days you don’t need to be told what you could be doing better.
You’re doing the best you can and Dear Author is what I wanted to share with young writers, writers, and authors that you are doing enough. You’re doing the best that you can and I don’t want this to be a book that tells you you need to be doing all of your writing better. Or you need to be copying this set author because they’re making a bunch of money or they seem to be very successful on a certain social media platform.
You are doing fantastic!!
There are future fangirls that are ready for your story.
That is what I want to convey. What my hope and my passion for this book is (because it’s very much a passion project for me).
I wanted authors to keep going.
I want writers to keep writing and to know that there is somebody, somebodies, who care about their story.
That they want those words to empower them and to encourage them. Sometimes to lift them up, sometimes remind them to keep going, That the journey may be hard, but it’s worth it in the end.
So as I looked at all these different books teaching how to (and I’m not knocking those books!), I want there to be a different kind of book that says “Hey, I see what you’re doing. Keep going.”
Dear Author: Letters from a Bookish Fangirl is exactly that.
It’s joining these books, these ranks, to encourage authors to keep writing.
I can’t wait to show you the cover in two weeks!
On November 4th, the official cover reveal day, I’ll be sharing this book’s shiny cover, the pre-order links, the Goodreads link, and the official launch date, which is December 3rd.
If you’re totally interested seeing the shiny cover (because it is so shiny! I love the colors.), then totally sign up below!
You can share the cover on any social media platform. I’ll send you all the links, I’ll send you the cover, and I’ll send that all to you a few days before the cover reveal date.
In the meantime though, if you would like to do something fun and you’re like “Laura! I want to hear more!” I can tell you that the brief little tagline is on Goodreads right now. 😀 I’ll leave the Goodreads link below, but know it’s totally on there to add to your TBR!
I can promise you that this book will not be another book in your author toolbox telling you how you can do better, what you need to do better.
No, you are doing awesome, keep going. Here is all my feels, here is all the things I felt, and I really want you to know because I want you to keep going.
It’s truly a book I feel like is for any writer no matter what stage they may be in. From the very beginning of your idea just now forming to I already have like ten books on Amazon.
I totally fully believe in this message and stay tuned because I’m going to be sharing a lot more fun stuff with this launch! I’m hoping to do some videos. I’m definitely going to have some pre-order swag goodies! (Shout to my street team for the idea to do stickers because that’s just one of the goodies!)
Thank you SO much for reading this post! Thank you to everyone who has been so supportive and so encouraging. I totally would not be here without you guys! <3
Remember December 3rd is the official release day!!
I can’t wait to share this book with you! <3
