Team Lines Acknowledgements (and Coming Soon)

I am so thankful for the creativity that blooms in people’s hearts. It makes me thankful how God has inspired millions of people in hundreds of different ways that can bless others. My heart overflows with thankfulness that I, too, am now able to be one of those people part of an incredible community.

Neko Inklings, when I first brainstormed the dedication for this collection, you ladies were the first people who came to mind. There was so much I wanted to say, but it was too little space. Instead, I’ll say it here. Thank you for being such an inspiration in my life and pushing, encouraging, and challenging me in my writing. If someone said I would love manga/anime characters so much a year ago that I would write poetry fan fiction, I would have laughed at such an absurd idea. Yet we did laugh, but with you ladies it was different. It wasn’t an absurd idea that should just stay in my mind, but it was one you guys encouraged me to pursue and write. From the bottom of my heart, thank you, thank you, thank you. Thank you for being with me in every step of this process and for your consistent feedback and encouragement. You all are amazing and love you so much!

Noelle Nichols, I realize you are a Neko Inkling, but I had to thank you personally. For everything. Thank you for reading so many of these poems and encouraging and celebrating with me. Thank you for sharing your concerns about that “gray line” and sharing how you felt this considered to be fan fiction. That conversation we had was so transforming and empowering! It’s still surreal to be on this journey, but it might not have happened unless you had spoken up like you did. Thank you!

My family, you guys are the best! Thank you for never making fun of my big efforts to learn volleyball and hear all about Haikyuu!! in any form or fashion. You have always supported me, and I am so incredibly blessed to be supported by you. I love you so much!

Haruichi Furudate, I thanked you in my first book and will thank you again. Truly, thank you for sharing the incredible story Haikyuu!!, especially Hinata, with others. I am so thankful for these characters and will always look at your work with fondness and thankfulness. Hinata is such an inspiration!

Cathy Hinkle, so many words come to mind of what I could say, but all I see is a blurry screen because I’m tearing up. I am beyond blessed our paths connected! You have been such an encouragement to me as a friend, writer, and editor. Thank you for challenging me to keep growing in more ways than one. Thank you for sharing about how to write poems with movement and pushing me to really embrace poetry in general. I am thankful for your insight and feedback on these poems, my interactive story, and stories to come.

Enfield Sylvanus, from the bottom of my heart, thank you! Thank you for taking the ideas I had for the illustrations and breathing them to life on page. It is everything I wanted and brings my heart so much happiness! You are such a blessing, and I appreciate the time you took to work on them during the manga contest you were participating in. Cheering you on!

Jesus, it’s my prayer and hope that we can write and publish “one more.” Thank you for this creative heart and all that you are doing in me. All glory to Your Name!

Lastly, many thanks to you, dear reader, for reading a small part of my heart. Hinata and his teammates are so precious to me, and I am thrilled that you would read these poems based on the Karasuno volleyball team. Let’s do it again sometime, shall we?
